What services do you offer?

We provide handyman services for homeowners, real estate agents, vacation rental managers, and seniors aging in place — including your honey-do lists, other general repairs, painting, TV/Wi-Fi setup, basic landscaping, pressure washing, vacation rental turnover work, home sale prep, and aging-in-place updates like grab bars and lever-style door handles instead of round knobs . Not sure if we cover your job? Just ask.

Are you insured and licensed?

Accepted Answer

Yes — we're fully insured and hold a valid Hawaii business license. We are not a licensed general contractor, so our work is limited to handyman-scope jobs rather than projects that legally require a contractor's license.

Are your services available for both residential and commercial properties?

Accepted Answer

Absolutely! We’re excited to help out both homes and businesses all over Kauai from Lihue to Koke`e. If you’re outside our usual area, just give us a call and we’ll see if we can help.

Question 4

What areas of Kauai does Sunset Coast Handyman service?

Accepted Answer

We primarily serve Southwest Kauai and Līhu'e, including Kekaha, Waimea, Hanapēpē, Kalāheo, Po'ipu, and Līhu'e.

Is there a fee just to come look at a job?

Accepted Answer

No cost to chat with Ricardo about your project, send photos, or get initial feedback over phone or text. If he needs to drive out to see the job in person, a $125 minimum service call fee usually applies — which typically goes toward the work if you move forward.

Question 6

Do you charge an additional travel fee for the east side and north shore service calls?

Accepted Answer

Jobs within our core service area (Kekaha through Lihue) have no travel fee. For locations beyond Lihue to the North Shore or to Koke'e, an additional travel fee applies based on distance. Contact us for a location-specific quote.

Question 7

Do you service the Kōkeʻe area?

Accepted Answer

Yes — we're available for jobs in Kokeʻe, including work for government installations (SAM.gov contracts) and state cabins. Ricardo worked up Koke'e for nearly 25 years is familiar with the unique needs and requirements of the area and knows what it takes to maintain these properties. Contact us to discuss your Kokeʻe job.

Do you help with furniture assembly?

Accepted Answer

Yes — beds, shelving, desks, and anything else that shows up in a box. If you'd rather not spend your weekend with an Allen wrench, we're happy to put it together for you.
